Custom fields in the OLAP cube

We have a client that has defined a custom cost field at project level. When
they want to add that field to the OLAP cube on the Server Settings page
under OLAP configuration the field does not appear in the list of custom
measures. We have tested it on 2 VPCs and they work fine. Does anyone know
what might be causing the problem?

Make sure it is not a calculated field. Is it a standard free form project
cost field?
