Custom Fields

It would be helpful to know which (text, number, flag, date..., outline
codes) project custom fields show up in PWA and which don't. Any feedback
will be appreciated.

Thanks.

All of the custom enterprise fields and outline codes can be shown in in
Views at various places in PWA. In the Portfolio Analyzer views, however,
only custom enterprise Project and Resource outline code fields become
dimensions in the OLAP cube by default . Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

What about the fields in the Edit Project Details section that you can
select from the Projec Center Views...

It seems some fields do show up here but others don't....

Thanks

Ian

I'm not sure what you mean by "edited in PWA." Where in PWA specifically?
You must create and configure these fields in the Enterprise Global file in
Microsoft Project Professional.

The Project Details page displays all custom enterprise Project outline
codes currently in use, plus only those enterprise Project fields that do
not contain either a value list or a formula. Hope this clarification
helps.

Thanks. In addition, I believe it excludes flag fields and graphical
indicators as well. Is that true? Graphical indicators set on text and number
fields can be saved from edit project details but only as data.

If you select "Tools > Customize > Published Fields ..." then a number of
fields can be made editable in the project team member timesheet (as long as
you add those). We are setting up (and deploying as of Feb 2005) a field
"Confidence factor", where we request from each team member (per task only 1
member") to report how confident he is in achieving "within budget and within
time" and quatifiying thing on the impact on important delivery dates.

regards,
Willy
