Custom Format Currency. Rs. 12345678 should be displayed as Rs.1,23,45,678

Dear Readers & Supporters
Does any body know how do I correct this correct this.

When I type 12345678 and format this cell as currency then excel displays
this as Rs.12,345,678.00

and not as
Rs. 1,23,45,678.00
I am using Windows XP and I have confiugured Digit Grouping (Control Panel
Regional Options Currency Digit Grouping as 12,34,56,789. Excel does
understand currency Symbol from Regional Setting but does not understand
digit grouping.
Any Help.

Use a custom format (format|cell|Number Tab|Custom category).
