Custom Paper Sizes , Envelopes & Printing.

We just upgraded our network to a Citrix systelm and installed Word 2007,
running on XP. I can no longer print custom-size documents. Although the
document looks just fine in Print Preview, it prints off center on my HP 3800
color laser jet. I have the latest print driver installed (PCL6).I can alter
page size in page layout, but the printer does not have a "custom-size"
choice, only your standard page sizes.

Also, I cannot print No. 10 envelopes. They, too, are off center. Using
Word 2003, there was no problem. I selected the No. 10 envelope or set up my
custom-size document and printed.

Has anyone else had problems with printing envelopes and custom-size docs?
I'm at a loss as to how to fix it.

When custom sizes don't work, you have two lines of attack:

1. Set up the custom size and then feed a sheet of plain paper (Letter or
A4) to see where the document prints. If it is practical (or possible) to
feed your paper in that position, do so. Also, in the case of envelopes, if
you're printing them from the Envelope dialog, experiment with the "Feed
method" in the Printing Options to see if a better choice will help.

2. If none of that works, set the document up for the next-largest size
recognized by the printer and make up the difference with margins.

I had this problem with a HP Laserjet 5000. I was using PCL 5 driver. I found that the PCL 5e driver solved the problem. Give that a try.
