Custom PWA Web Part for Timesheets

I was wondering if anyone knew of where I might be able to find
customized/enhanced versions of the Project Server 2007/SharePoint
timesheet web part.

While the out-of-the-box version is fine for when the user has only a
few tasks, when there are a large number of possible tasks the
interface becomes increasingly difficult to manage. Either I
prepopulate the entire sheet with all tasks or I hide them all and
then the user has to add the lines one by one. When adding the
timesheet line items one by one, the drop down menu next to "Select
from existing assignments" contains a large number of tasks/items,
which makes finding the one that you want quite difficult.

As an aside, the reason that there are so many tasks being shown in
the drop down list is that I have had to create an operational project
with combinations of Product/customer/task - messy, I know, but I
couldn't think of another way to support this level of granularity.

Essentially I am looking for a site similar to the following with the
