Custom Reporting

Is there a way I can create a report with custom fields? i.e. customize the
cash flow report to use one of my customized cost fields (cost1, cost2, etc)?

Hi sflow,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You need to create a customized table and then create a customized report
that uses that table. Principles are explained in my free series for
beginners on Microsoft Project in the TechTrax ezine, particularly #21 in
customizing Tables and #24 on customizing Reports, at this site:
http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc or this:

(Perhaps you'd care to rate the article before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Mike,

Thanks for your input. The site you offered is very helpful.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how to customize or create
new Crosstab report to give me exactly what I want. I am after something
very similar to the Cash Flow report, but instead of reporting Cost, Id like
to report my own customized fields (Cost1, Cost2, etc)....In any case, with
the information your site offers, I may be able to create a table report that
gives me what I need or even a view that might not even require a report.

You're welcome, sflow :) Sorry, I hadn't connected with your need for a
crosstab report, as they cannot accept customized cost fields. You could
copy the cost1 data to the number1 field (if you are not using that) and
then select it in the Visual Reports crosstab report. I'm no expert in the
creation of these cube reports, but you could experiment with them. Maybe
someone else who has expert knowledge of this area will step in.
