custom shadows in Visio

Hi there
I am putting together a presentation on using custom shadows and would like
some suggestions on why/when shadows would be used in a Visio document

Rectangles are boring? The shadow will give a bit more visual impact. In
some cases, the shapes with shadows will stand out and as such have more
emphasis and importance.

shadows can give a sense of depth and 3D
