Customised Gantt chart cells

Does anyone know how to ensure a customised Gantt chart cell is included in a
new task when an existing task is copied?

Bit more information:
I'm trying to use ctrl+click and drag on a timeline shape to create new
tasks. It works fine except that I've added an extra column whose cell is not
copied when the new task is created (by contrast, other cells such as task
name, start/end dates etc are copied ok). Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.

Data displayed in the columes of a Gantt chart are stored in the Shape Data
of the task bar. So if you fill in values for the colume and then ctrl-drag
a task bar to create a new task, the new task should have all of the same
Shape Data values as the original shape. Is this what you are doing? If
not, then would you clarify the steps.

Hi Fred,

Apologies for taking so long to reply - didn't tick the old 'Notify me of
replies' check box - doh! etc. Anyway:
the new task should have all of the same Shape Data values as the original >shape. Is this what you are doing?
Exactly. I had a customised field that was refusing to be copied to new
tasks. Now bizarrely enough its working as expected today. I'm at a loss to
explain why, but am happy to say a silent thanks to the Gods of randomness
for allowing it to work.

Thanks a lot for replying to my post.

Cheers,

Andy
