Customize Default Utilization?

Re: Project Pro 2003

Is there some way to set the default utilization either for all resources or
on a resource by resource basis? I'd like the default to be 200%, not 100%.
It's a pain to have to manually open the resources tab every time I create a
new task and reset utilization to 200%.

I realize that "copy down" copies both task resource assignment and
utilizaiton - just wondering if there's an easier way.

Thanks!

It is a mystery to me how a resource can be assigned to a project at 200%
utilization. 100% utilization means full-time work, so why do you want to
set the default to 200% for every assignment? The only reason I can think
of for doing so is if all of your resources are generic resources and you
need two team members working full-time on each task. Is this your
situation?

If you absolutely must do as you request, your Project Server administrator
would need to change the Max. Units value for each resource in the
Enterprise Resource Pool to 200%. Once done, when you assign a resource to
a task without specifying a Units value, the Units will default to the Max.
Units value for that particular resource, which is 200% in this case. I'm
not sure this is a wise thing to do, however, but you asked how to do and I
told you. Good luck! :)
