Customize field with an IIF statement

My real stump is how do I customize a field to tell me the all dependent
"successors" task of a completed "Predecessor" are "ready" and the rest of
the the rest of the " successors' " successors are "Pending". I would
assume that it is an IIF statement or a Macro? Filters don't cut it.

A formula cannot access any other task, only the data for the current task.
To look at all successors of a task you need VBA code which can then update
a custom field for the predecessor task.

Hi Rod,

Thank you for your response and I would like to ask if you could help me
locate someone or a service who could write this code for me.

Hi,

(I pick this thread up since your question in the other one has become the
same)

I'd give you a snippet of code but I have the feeling you haven't actually
thought this through.
When a task has many predecessors, how can one field tell which one(s) are
complete and which one(s) aren't?

You brought up a good point. What if one successor had many predecessors?
Well depending on their dependencies, that means that they would be on the
critical path and that all their predecessor would have to be completed
before “releasing†that task to a “Ready to do†Status, therefore allowing
the user to see across the project where he could plan on better managing
resources and material in a critical crunch.
