I'm creating a customized field for graphical indicators. I am using tools,
customize enterprise fields and select the radial button for project then
text and under graphical indicators... I try to select project summary or
summary rows but it keeps defaulting back to Nonsummary rows. Why ?

Hi jguille7 ,

Try posting on the server newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project
Newsgroups. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information
can be seen at this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response. I was also experiencing the same problem
yesterday, so after reading your response to jguille7, I posted our questions
to the server newsgroup. The frustration I experience, and perhaps that is
why others tend to post server questions to this newsgroup, is that responses
are not as quick or consistent on that newsgroup. Just a quick gander through
yesterday and today's postings shows many items with just the original
posting. Any suggestions for how we can help this situation would be great!

Thanks again for all your help! I've learned a lot on these newsgroups!

Hi Leslie,

An interesting comment! As far as I can tell, most of the gurus on the
workings of networks and servers will be focussing their attention to the
server ng, They also hang out in this ng - in fact all of the project ngs.
Therefore there should be no point in posting server problems here. Doing
so tends to clog up this ng with matters that Microsoft says should be dealt
with in the correct other ngs. Certainly people like me, who do not have a
server get somewhat frustrated in having to wade through server specific
postings looking for the gems or answers being given to others on basic
Project workings.

What's even more frustrating is people who crosspost. The responder in one
ng spends his/her voluntary time answering a query only to find that it has
aleready beeen answered elsewhere - it's enough to make responders give up!
That's why, if I'm the first responder, I always direct the poster to the
"correct" newsgroup.

Hi Mike,

Judging from other folks responses, I think I can express our mutual
gratitude to all of you who wade in and help (with technical answers or
directions to the answers! ;-), especially those who share code, files, etc!
And I agree about posting to the correct ng. I've just noticed that few
postings to this ng go un-answered. Perhaps because there are fewer who have
a server? Regardless, I'm grateful for any answers I can get! :)
