Hi folks:
I'm trying to define the following sort of numbered outline list style:
(1) (a)
(b)
(c)
(2) (a)
(b)
....etc.
That is, it's a series of numbered examples, each of which is an alphabetically ordered set of subexamples. I'd like it to support list continuation, since the examples will be discontinuous throughout the paper. Finally, I'll need to cross-reference them, as in: "In example (2) (b), we see that ...".
Any suggestions? I've been messing around with customizing built-in numbered outlines without much luck. This is with Word 2003, also.
