Customizing Organizational Chart Shapes

J

Jkim

In my line of work, we create a lot of legal entity organizational charts.
Squares represent corporations and triangles represent partnerships. I have
tried to create my own custom stencil and wanted to have the triangle that I
created have all of the same properties as the "regular" organizational chart
shapes (i.e., Manager or Position shapes) such as when I drop a shape on top
of it, it automatically creates a connector line between the two shapes.

Am using Visio Professional 2003 SP1

Org Chart shapes have lots of custom behaviors, so to mimic that you should
just copy an existing Org Chart shape and then change the geometry around.
You will need to understand a little about the Shapesheet to accomplish
this. Essentially you need to manually replicate the geometry section from
your custom shape in the modified Org Chart shape.
