Customizing problem- formula to calculate duration

Does anyone knows if it is possible to assign a customized
formula to the tasks' duration column?
Currently, I am creating a dummy column, custumizing it
with the formula; Once the values of each row are
calculated, I copy-'paste special' them into each row the
duration column. Don't know if there is a better way.

Your idea is *not* a good idea.

Duration is Start Date - End date. That's it. Full stop. Nothing more.

If you insist on having a special duration calculation then insert one of
the duration columns (Duration1 through Duration10) and put your
calculation there.

If it's important to display your duration rather than Project's duration
when you print the Gantt chart then simply hide Project's duration
column. But be aware that some of the canned reports (such as View |
Reports | Current Activities | "Tasks in Progress") show Project's
duration calculation.
