Cut and paste image + print screen problem

Hi
I have two problems but I think they are connected.

Whether I try to capture an image on screen (print screen
button) or by using cut and paste, the moment I try to
paste the image, I only get the border (a black rectangle
of the same dimensions)but with nothing inside.

In Word, I can even see the image in my clipboard and it
looks ok but thye same thing happens when I paste it.

Any help appreciated

Tools > options > view > uncheck 'show picture placeholders'.
