Cut and Pasted images make docs TOO big

[stanguru]

have alot of documents/spreadsheets that users have done alot of
cutting and pasting of images into Word and Excel, in which i know MS
products converts them to BMP which is way to big.

1 page documents with a couple pics, turns into 20meg

does anyone know of a utility out there that can change them to
JPG's/GIFs ???
or
is there some kinda plugin for Word/Excel that i can install and do
them one at a time?

yup. paint can save to JPEG's, though it's not normal to have files pasted
as BMPs into documents. see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320314/en-us for
