Cut & Paste Question

I'm using XP and MS Word XP 2002.

After highlighting and copying some text on a web site, I open my Word 2002
and try to paste the text in a new document.

Problem:

The cut and paste icons are grayed out and EDIT, copy and past options are
grayed.

How do I copy and paste?

Do I have to turn on some options in Word 2002?

Thx!

If you got Money as part of the package (and did not get Excel, PowerPoint,
or other Office apps), then you probably did get Works Suite. Go to Control
Panel | Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in
for Word. One of this add-ins many nasty habits is clearing the Clipboard
when you start Word.

Ok, I deleted it and it seems to be working.
Does it affect anything because I deleted Works Suite?

Thx!!

You should not have uninstalled Works Suite, just the Microsoft Works Suite
Add-in for Word. Aside from saving yourself a lot of headaches in Word, the
only thing you have lost is the ability to use a Works address book or
database as a data source for a Word mail merge or to start a merge from
Works.

That's the way the laptop came frm Dell. I hardly ever use Word -- but I
could not figure out why C&P was not working. This will work for me. :)

Thanks again for taking the time to help me!!!
