Cute Site Builder to FP 03

Beginning this weekend, I will be converting a page built with Cute
Site Builder to FP 03. Are there any tricks or gotchas I should be
aware of? They claim 6000 pages. I don't believe that from what I can
see (I don't have it yet).

one way I've found that's successful;
I'll build a template page which almost always consists of a page calling
FrontPage includes to the head, side, and foot. that way you can change any
of them globally.

then I'll copy it for each page I need and simply paste the text (usually
from browser view) of the old pages into the center.

since you've got so many pages, you may want to use some server side
scripting to call the content into your template. I can't say which or how
without knowing what kind of content, serve, etc.......

I will receive it on CD. Undecided as to which host at this time. Many
pages with several unrelated photos per page. A lot of resizing and
reorganizing. Streamlining for faster loads. Resizing PDFs. Getting
rid of some background music and animated GIFs; sometimes several on a
page. Basically starting from scratch but using the raw material
provided.

I have dual monitors. That should make it easier... viewing both old
and new at the same time.

once you know the nature of the server I could give more advice. for the
present time you can't go wrong with the first couple paragraphs of my
original reply. ;-)

regarding the images;
I've used smart saver pro from www.ulead.com it'll go through a folder full
of images and compress them excellently. the image quality remains but it
really cuts down on the file size. it's just what the doctor ordered for a
project like you're faced with.
