Cutting and pasting into Excel

Sometimes I will cut a figure from Word and paste it into Excel.
Usually this is a heading that follows a bulleted indent. When I
paste it into Excel, weird things happen, with random cells locked up.
This is when I am glad I make back-ups.

Is this a common problem?

You need to use:

Edit, Paste Special, Text.

If you just paste it then you are pasting the Word Object and this would
have unforeseen consequences!.

Thanks. I'm someone who always uses control keys to paste, but I
certainly am better off using the mouse in this instance.
