cyclic redundancy check

i am suddenly unable to delete a number of my emails. I can't reply and send
either. All i can do is read incoming and create new emails to send. the
error message i get is either ".pst not found"..or ".pst already in use"..or
mostly "cyclic redundancy check" what does all this mean and how do i fix ?
