Dale - Resource Manager - Team Lead

Tim

I only want my resource managers only to view the
resources below them when they open project professional.
I have set up the RBS, now where do I set this? I can't
find it.
Thank you
Tim

Tim --

The outline code structure you set up in your RBS field should mimic the
"org chart" of your company. Congrats on getting this much done.

Your next step will be to open the Enterprise Resource Pool. Once done,
temporarily insert the RBS field in the Resource Sheet view, then specify an
RBS setting for each resource to show where they fit in the company's org
chart. Project managers and resource managers should be one level higher on
the org chart than the resources they manage, while executives should be at
least one level higher than the PM's and RM's. This will show Project
Server "who manages whom." Once this is done for each resource, save and
close the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope this helps.

Tim:

In addition to the steps Dale outlined, you'll also need to set your
categories to observe the RBS rules. These relationships are activated by
selecting options in categories like:

Allow users in this category to view all projects they manage
Allow users in this category to view all projects assigned to resources that
they manage.

Etc.

You can set these RBS relationship security on Projects, Resources and
Analyzer models.
