Data Analysis Connection failing

T

Trisha

When I click on 'Data Analysis' in PWA I receive the folloiwng message:

The query could not be processed:
The following system error occurred: No connection could be made because
the target machine actively refused it.

Does anyone know what may be causing this? Others are able to connect
without any issues.

Thanks!

Trisha:

It sounds like your system may be passing the wrong credentials. Did you
update your password recently? If so, the incorrect password may be cached.
Can you logon to another system using your credentials and access the cube
successfully? If so, this would indicate that the problem is
machine-specific.

It does appear to be machine specific but I have not changed my password in
quit some time.

I did clear the IE cache and in Control Panel --> User Accounts --->
Advanced there were no stored passwords.

Do you have an idea of where else I may need to clear a cached password that
PWA might be looking @?

Thanks!

hmm....almost same like me...
i can open my data analysis in server, but if i open my data analysis in
local computer, there were error " The query could not be processed: The
following system error occured: No such host in known:"

i think my problem is i can't connect to Analysis Services server from
local, cause when i want to create analysis view in manage view, Analysis
Service Setting section -- Analysis Services Database to be created and then
i click to refresh database list there were message box "failed to connect to
the analysis services server. Verify the server name and try again".
i already install SQLServer2005_ASOLEDB9 and enable accors domain from
custom level IE.
when i created from server was successfully and can view data analysis.
but problem if i open in local computer, " The query could not be processed:
The following system error occured: No such host in known".

is something wrong with my setting or my machine maybe....

thanks

Trisha:

Under Control Panel > Manage Users, check the Advanced tab and select the
Manage Passwords feature as check for stored passwords there. If you find
one for your projectserver URL, delete it. Otherwise, you can try to
recreate your profile on the machine by renaming the current profile adding
..bak extension and then logon to the machine with your normal credentials to
recreate it. If this works, you can migrate your profile items to the new
profile and go happily forward from there. Sometimes corruption occurs in
profiles, and causes this behavior.

Gary -

I did check the 'stored passwords' and it is empty. I have contacted
Microsoft and at this point it looks to be a permissions issue with my domain
user account.

Trisha:

Has this ever worked for you? Are you an administrator in the system? In
order to use OLAP as a client, your account must be added to the Project
Server View OLAP Data Role, through SQL Management Studio in Analysis
Services. I assumed that this was a sudden problem for you, but I realize
from reading your posts that I never asked whether it ever worked for you.
I'm also assuming that you're using 2007 with these instructions.

It has never worked for me. We just got off the phone with MS suport and
we reviewed the users in SQL Manager and I'm pretty sure I was a member of
this group. I will have the DBA double-check.

At this point we are comparing group membership for a user that is working
to mine to see if we can narrow down where his permissions are being granted.

I will keep you posted.

database.
when i try in server, its successfully work....and problem when i tried in
local computer, its failed to work...
should i try with Create the repository in a SQL Server 2005 database
