Data Analysis - Progress Reporting Timelines

Using the data Analysis option in PS I run a report each Monday that filters
Actual Time reported vs Baseline Time Scheduled (filtered by department, task
owner, project and etcetera). Following the systems default I use week
numbers to produce the reporting periods that are one week intervals. I run
the report to identify who reported against scheduled tasks for the
designated week.

We have a cut-off time of 5pm on Friday for that weeks updates and the OLAP
cube builds at 3am.

If a resource provides a task update on a Friday, but it is not accepted
until Monday, where does the update get reported to. Is it reported as being
done on the Friday or the Monday? Is the default that when time is reported
it is assigned to the date that it was scheduled to be completed on- assuming
no date changes occured.

Further building on this, what if the task was completed several weeks past
and the task owner is updating the schedule two weeks behind (backfilling if
you will). Will those hours be reported for the actual time the work is
scheduled or for the time that it was accepted by the PM?

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi George,

Assuming that the resource doesn't change the date, then the time will be
reported as the Friday, ie when the assignment was scheduled. Likewise for
your 2nd question, which AFAIK is the same question, but with a longer lag.
