Data Conflict Com Port 1

I have acquired a GPS device but have been unable to download waypoits from
my PC to the GPS device. I keep receiving the message " serial port selected
is receiving data from an unknown device". I have been unable to identify
what else is using the serial port. I have tried downloading to my GPS using
another compyter and it works fine. Therefore the problem is not with the GPS
or the interface cable. I presently run Windows XP Home Edition. Can anyone
help? I have been unable to see where this problem has been addressed
previously in discussion groups. Bill

Personally, I think you need a device driver.

But, set your next GPS coordinates to a newsgroup about this topic. You are
lost in the jungle of Microsoft Access, the PC database application, and the
natives don't speak that language.
