I have 2003 Office using Win XP. I have created a main form (client) with a
subform (activity) for data input. Client and Activity data are on same
source document. I don't want to blindly key in the client portion of every
form, because some of the forms will be for new clients and some of the forms
are meant to only update activity. When I receive a source document to key,
I would like to be able to key the first characters of last name and have a
list of names pop up from which I can select from to bring the entire record
onto the form. Can I use a combo box to do this or is there some other way?
I have played with the combo box, but can't get it to bring up the record I
select, and it also puts the autonumber into my last name field! I would
greatly appreciate it if you would just point me in the right direction.
I had previously sent for help to the Community Newsgroup but got no
response. I really need help on this problem.
