Denise

Hi, I am using Pub 2007. I have a text box and 2 small pictures overlaid by
a hot spot. Previously it looked like firefox was showing text in the box
for the hot spot so i re-did that. now it looks like it is placing a
picture over everything but i don't think it is in the hot spot. I t looks
fine in IE. the website is shhrc.org and it's on the home page. Thanks.

Denise,

I am not sure of what you are describing but I notice these problems with
your home page in FireFox. First of all some of your text is being converted
to an image: http://shhrc.org/index_files/image367.png
This can be caused by grouping the text box with some other element.
Here is another: http://shhrc.org/index_files/image1839.png
Look in your index_files folder in thumbnail view to spot these, or try to
left click, drag to select the text and if you can't it has been converted
to an image. In fact much of the text on your home page has been converted
to images, and should be fixed. If ungrouping does not fix all the cases
post back with the specifics and we will help you.

I also notice that you are using hotspot hyperlinks for 'premier accredited
center' and another link in that text. I think it would be better practice
to use the standard underline link as that is the convention you are using
elsewhere on the page...but that is just my opinion. The average user will
know that the underline means a hyperlink...they will not know that you have
a hotspot link. You many think it looks better, but it is less accessible
and functional than a standard underline. The use of the hotspot link over
the picture of Gracie does make sense and is workable since you told people.

All the links seem to work in FireFox and IE7. If you are having a different
experience, then post back with specifics.

You have a strange graphic loading, that is huge in the upper right
corner...fair warning to dial up viewer, it is 2.3 megs, which means it
could take you more than 10 minutes for it to load:

I don't know what that is, but it needs to be removed or fixed or might be
what you are talking about.

Also, did you install the Office 2007 SP2? If not you will also be having
problems with your navbars rendering in IE8.

I don't know if any of that was helpful or addressed your specific issues.
If not post back with different, more specific words.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will follow up. The picture you mention is
what I am talking about. I didn't put it there and it doesn't show up in IE.
I don't know how to get rid of something that's not in my source. The
picture used to be elsewhere on the site, but never there. It is overlaying
other things as you can see if you look on IE. Thanks!

It is in your source code:

href="index_files/SpecialEvents.htm#horsepower"><img border=0 width=399
height=86 src="index_files/image1548.png"

View your source code and scroll all the way to the bottom to see the code,
or just Find > 1548

Perhaps it is hiding behind some of the other elements? I am not sure. Move
the text box "Click here for details and tickets for" along with
'horsepower' and all the small logos and see if you can find it. Perhaps it
is associated with the hotspot link, so once again alternatively don't use
the hotspot link...select the text "click here' and insert the hyperlink
normally. The problem is somewhere in that group of elements in the upper
corner...

You might also just delete your old index.htm file and index_files folder on
your host server and upload fresh files. Sometimes things don't get
overwritten for some reason and it can help to clean up old files.

Sorry I can't be more definitive.
