data transfer

I have created 3 separate workbooks in excell for 3
separate schools, that calculate grades. I need to
transfer the grade totals from 2 worksheets to the 3rd
worksheet in one of the 3 workbooks, so it will calculate
all 3 schools together. In other works, how do I copy the
data with the formulas from 2 of the workbook sheets into
the 3rd workbook worksheet so that I can move the data
from workbook 1 and workbook 2 into the 3rd workbook
sheet. I have read the help section of Excel but it does
seem to work. Is there someone out there who understands
what I need and can help?

Rob, here's one (easy) way:

1-Open all three workbooks
2-Select the data to be "transferred" in one of the workbooks and Edit >
Copy.
3-Switch to the "target" workbook, select a destination cell, and Edit >
Paste Special > Paste Link .
4-Repeat for the other workbook.

This will copy and link the data between the workbooks. You can continue to
maintain separate workbooks, and the data will be updated in the
consolidated workbook automatically.

Or if you really want to transfer the data without creating any links, just
substitute Edit > Paste in Step 3 above.

Hope this helps.
