Data Type Update

I have a field (1) with a data type = "Memo".
I have to match field (1) to field (2), but (2) data type is "text".

How can I update field (1) to a text data type in SQL statement, or a
funtion or a precedure in a modules?

Are you asking how you can join those two fields in a query? If yes, use an
nonequi-join:

SELECT Table1.*, Table2.*
FROM Table1 INNER JOIN Table2
WHERE Left(Table1.[MemoFieldName], 255) =
Left(Table2.[TextFieldName] & Space(255), 255);

You'll need to enter this as an SQL query as it cannot be represented in the
design view of a query.
