Data within a Shape

I am using Office Visio 2007. I have encountered two issues that I need a
solution on how to do it!!!

Questions:

(1) How do I create a shape where I want to calendar date to appear within a
shape? e.g., rectangle box and the current date would appear November 17, 2006

(2) How do you make "annotation" work?
e.g., callout "A" is update to be "C" everywhere in the drawing this should
happen

You have two options in Visio 2007. If you want the shape text itself to
display the current date, select the shape and choose Insert > Field. Then
you can pick the Current Date field to display.

If you want to add an annotation to display information, right click on the
shape and choose Data > Edit Data Graphic. Click on New Item and choose
Text. Now select the Shape Data field that you want to display. If the one
you want is not listed, select More Fields which will bring up the same
dialog as Insert > Field did.

Once you have created a Data Graphic, it is usable on any shape. Go to the
Data menu and choose Display Data on Shapes to see the data graphics defined
in the document. Then select a different shape in your drawing and click on
a data graphic to apply it. If you make changes to the data graphic, Visio
will update all the places in the document where it is used. Here is more
info on Data Graphics:
