Database is damaged and locked

My database became damaged and now when opening I got the option to Repair
the database. Halfway through the repair, it stalled out and now when I try
to open, I get the message that the database is locked and in use by someone
else. It is not a shared database. Also, I do not see the.ldb file, which i
usually see when a db is in use. Any suggestions on how to open/repair my
database would be greately appreciated.

Thanks

I copied the database, but the new one doesnt let me open it because it says
it is in use, but of course isnt. And same problem with imports. It wont
import, because it says the database is locked and in use. Grrrr. I'll try
this website, but if anyone has any other suggestions....

Thanks!

Is your database split into front-end and back-end? Is your back-end/data
someplace where a backup is regularly made? Do you have backups of either
the database (one file) or the separate front- and back-ends?

I was blocked from downloading Jetcomp due to security restrictions at work.
At this point, I have asked them to restore my database from Friday's backup.
I havent gotten an answer yet, but I am hopeful. Thanks for your help
