Database needs repaired or isn't a database file - big problem

Tony

Hi Group,

Expert help needed here big time.
I have designed a multi-user database (max 10 users) for
my orgainsation, which is now into it's 5th version.
Staff are now encountering a problem detailed below and I
am at a loss at to why it's happening. This problem never
arose in previous versions but now randomly occurs. (The
main difference between previous versions and current
version is the addition of an audit table that updates
actions after records are processed). I have tested the
database on a different server and workstations etc but I
am unable to replicate the problem with 4 users logged
in. Can someone shed some light on it? Could it be a
server/network problem?

Many thanks

Tony
--------------- Problem start ------------------

The Database \\a12661\PCT Eligibility Database\Eligibility
Database v1.5mde needs to be repaired or isn't a database
file.

You or another user may have unexpectedly quit Microsoft
Access while a Microsoft Access database was open.
Do you want Microsoft Access to attempt to repair the
Database?

when I click 'Yes'' the following message appears;

You attempted to open a database that was already opened
exclusively by user 'admin' on machine 'A11631'. Try again
when the database is available.

When I click 'OK' the following message appears;

the database \\a12661\PCT Eligibility
Database\Eligibility Database v1.5mde cannot be repaired
or isn't a Microsoft Access database file. OK

When we click on 'OK' the database closes.

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same problem. Did you manage to find
a solution?

Appreciated if someone could help.

I am having the same problem with a database that has been
in production for several years. We converted to Access
2000 about a year ago, and users are now experiencing this
problem sporadically but frequently. There are 5 main
users, and usually the problem comes up when 1 or 2 are
using the database and the 3rd or 4th user tries to log
in. Please let me know if you have gotten any responses
to your message with any possible solutions. Feel free to
email me separately if you want also. Thanks.
