database needs to be repaired

Paul

I had a Access 2000 application (with 20 users), it was
runing well the last couple months. Yesterday, the database
had some problem, here is the error message: "You or
another user may have unexpectedly quit Microsoft Access
while a Microsoft Access database was open". It took me
about 2 hours to see the .ldb file disappear, before I can
applied the Repair utility. I reviewed the article in
Knowledge base(209137) still confused. What's the cause?
Is there a way I can prevent it? Thanks for your kindly
help.

If you are sure that there are no users accessing the database, you can
delete the ldb file. Sometimes, it is marked as open / used and you can't
delete it. In this case, get your network admin to close and delete the ldb
for you as they can force the closing of a file.
