Database of country names acceptable to the USPS

Is anyone aware of an available (i.e., free!) database / data source
containing the list of COUNTRY NAMES acceptable to the US Post Office?

I would want something that's maintained periodically so I can refresh my
MDB a couple of times a year.

Thanks. I've seen similar lists before. Unfortunately, the UN's view of
countries is not the same as the USPS's view. For example, the UN table
shows Puerto Rico as a country, where it really bears a two-letter "state"
code as part of the US (same with the Virgin Islands, etc.). And the UN's
list doesn't show England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, etc. --- they
are all lumped into "The United Kindgom of ....". The USPS won't accept
this --- if you want to mail a letter to someone i England, you have to put
England on the envelope.

Bottom line --- that list won't work for mailing list purposes.

I found a fairly decent list on the web, but I"m not sure how widely it's
used and/or whether it'll be maintained. The UN's list will be maintained,
but it's not sufficient for the USPS.

I forgot to mention that the following is probably the most comprehensive
I've seen (which is why it's called a "compulsive guide to postal
addresses"). It even gives each country's addressing structure (including a
link to the country's post office's web site to get their postal codes ---
if available). It a mammoth undertaking --- and I may just need to use it.
I note, however, that it comes out of Columbia University! How reliable
will it be next year??? What if that department loses funding? Anyway, it
may just be the best I can do! Bob.
