Database on intranet

HI,

We will be creating an intranet site for our dept. They want us to build a
database and then house it to intranet. Well..I have not worked with this
kind of project before where I put database on intranet.

Please let me know..what's the best way of doing that..like how can I put MS
Access application on intranet? And what programing is needed in order to do
that? We use secure FX to put all the files that need to put on server.

Please help me..
