Database Owner - Admin

When I try to change owner of a database, I can't,
presumably because I'm not logged in as the owner.

So, while logged in as a member of the Admins group, I
create a new, empty database with a different name. I check
the ownershipe for the database and find, "Admin"!

Why would a database created by me be owned by Admin?

So ... you opened Access, opened a database, then got prompted for a userID
and password, which you entered as <youruserid> and <yourpwd> respectively.
Then used the File New to create a new database .... and the db Owner was
'Admin' ?

Exactly. To add a little precision to that, the owner of
the *newly created* mdb is "Admin" (as was the owner of the
mdb originally opened).



Hmmm. I must be missing the obvious (I do that a lot...).

But... if your last statement is correct, how, could the
Owner of my new mdb, created by me while logged on as an
Admins Group member other than Admin*, be listed as "Owner"?

New thought: Is there a blending of realms, here? Could
there be cross-pollination between the Windows NT file
system and the ownership in Access? I'll check into that
with one of my Cheech & Chong tools (Try This!).


* The user, "Admin" has been removed from the
"Admins" group.

Correction on the last of that: "...be listed as "Admin"?

Now I am reminded that these files are on a FAT32 drive!
