database owner unknown

I have a Access 97 database that the Database Owner shows Unknown.

I'm trying to upgrade this database. I have an id that is ADMIN that I have
set as the owner and admin rights of all the:
tables
queries
forms
reports
Macros
modules

What I still can't set is the owner and rights to the DATABASE. Problem is
it shows <UNKNOWN>.

I'm pretty sure I know the account that might have this but that account
doesn't exist in the system.mdw anymore.

How do I get it so my admin account is the owner of this database so I may
upgrade it?

Create a new unsecured database and import all the objects from the old one.
