Database Properties Lost and DB model broken

We have been working with Visio 2000 professional to create
a model for a large production database. The model
contains about 15 pages, each with a different
representation of the relationships between the entities.
For no apparent reason (ie we can't pinpoint a specific
event), we suddenly found that double clicking a table or
relationship does not open the Datbase properaties dialog
box. In addition, all of the database related
funcitonality ceases to function - it is as though the
model is just a picture rather than a view of the database.
As a result we have had to scrap it and start again (not
deisirable!).

We have found an article (here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;826419)
that suggests that a similar problem exists on Visio 2003,
although we have not added any Active X controls to the
file as far as we know. The only "odd" thing that has been
done is that some Word text, tables and a company logo have
been added to a page in the file.

Has any one else had this error? Is it a known bug. How
can we avoid it in future?

Your hopefully
