Database Shortcut and Spliiting the Database

Hi,

I have a database that has a workgroup with users and groups assigned
to it. Because of the user permissions assigned to the database,
the.mdb file has to be opened with a shortcut that connects the
workgroup file. I want to split the database into a front and back
end, but if I do this what will happen with the user
permissions/shortcut? Will the permissions remain with the database,
or will I be locked out of the db because the permissions are gone? Or,
how can I recreate the shortcut and links to the workgroup file to the
split database?

Any advice on how to best address this issue when splitting the
database would be greatly appreciated.
