I would like to set up a database of names, phone numbers, emails, etc. I
would like them in alpha order. I want them to print out in a list vertically
and I want to be . What is the easiest way to do this.

To create a db you need a db application, or you could create a simple list
in excel.
So what software do you have available?

I have the office professional suite, I can do it in excel, word, works or
publisher. My main problem is I can get it to print out in a neat list (like
standard address labels) It keeps printing one name per sheet of paper.
Just can't figure it out.

For a simple list, an Excel workbook or even a Word table would do. For your needs, the Excel workbook is probably the better
environment for building & maintaining the list. Just be sure to split the addresses into at least 1 column per address line (eg
Street number & name, Locality, State, postcode could all be separate fields). You could then use Word's mailmerge facility to turn
the Excel records into a set of mailing labels.
