It is a MS Word 2002 document. the "insert" "date" gives the current date,
but the "MMMM" doesn't. No macros, no merge, just straight typing.

Is that some kind of AutoText entry on your system? Or are you talking
about a DATE field you put in the document?

Date field. MM is 01 MMMM is July YY is 06 yyyy is 2006 etc. So, in this
document I only want the MMMM field, but it pulls up January - not September.

All I can think of is to Re-insert(Insert, Field, Date) the Date field
and look to see the "field options" are set (or unset) as appropriate.
