Date Format Under Japanese Locale

Hi, All,

My Regional and Language setting's standard format is set to Japanese with
customized date format as "MMM-YY". So I suppose when I type in "11/2006" in
excel 2003, it will be displayed as "Nov-2006". However, what I got now is
always "12-06". I already restarted my computer for twice, so could anyone
help on this issue ?

Hi, TarZan,

Thanks for your reply. Unforunately , your method didn't help.

My environment is Eng Version Window XP + Jap MultiLan installed, I changed
location to Japanese, and customize the date format to "MMM-YYYY", it
displayed as "DEC-2006" in Window Regional setting. However, after rebooted
my pc, I tried to type in 12/2006 in excel cell, it still displayed as 6-06,
I tried your method as well but i didn't help at all. When I checked the
format , even type is "mmm-yyyy", it still show in sample as "6-2006".
That's the problem .

Hi.
Just as what you are saying, if the cell value is "6/2006", we can't format
it to "Jun-2006" with "mmm-yyyyy". But in my machine, if i tried to type in
"2006/6" (the month is after the year), i was successful to format it to
"Jun-2006". So please try to type in date like "2006/6" (not "6/2006"), then
modify its format in cell fomrat dialog box.
good luck.
