Date format

I have set my MBA to European date format but I notice in Mac Office 2008 it
still uses American date format. Can someone advise me if Mac Office 2008
does not follow the system date format. If so, please advise the required
additional configuration.

It does, that's why I'm surprised it didn't work for you.

It follows the formats defined in teh International PrefPane.
