Date Formatting Problem

Krispy

Hello,

I am new to this group. I am having issues with the date formattin
feature in Excel 2000. Formatted date as mm-dd-yy.

In some cells when you key in 01/02/04, it reverts it to 02/01/04.

I had to change my keyboard from English- Canadian to English US as
was getting french accents everytime I wanted a question mark.

I read that this may be the problem ?? Any suggestions on what to tr
and resolve this one ? I changed the date format to
dd-mm-yy to make the formatting work as mm-dd-yy ( but this is not th
way it is supposed to work, just a work around to have the date displa
as I wanted it formatted.

Thanx,

Krisp

Excel date format is controlled by Windows Regional Settings. If you go to
control panel regional settings and set this to US all should be OK

I think that you are saying that there are several occurences of blank
rows between the data, which you would like to remove.
If so, you can send the blank rows to the bottom of the sheet by using
data->sort. You can sort by any field that contains no other blank
entries. After this sorting, select the data and sort again to return
the sheet to its original order.
If there's no column in the sheet that it's logical to sort by, insert
a list of numbers 1,2,3...etc. in a blank column before you start.
