Date Function

I would like to find a function that will take the date in one column and
tell me what date is 4 months after that date - any thoughts

If your date is in A1 then =EDATE(A1,4) might do what you want. You will
need to have the Analysis Tookpak installed for versions of Excel prior to
2007.
EDATE is documented in help under date functions.

Another way which doesn't need the ATP:

=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+4,DAY(A1))
