Date issue to runover into the next blank cell

Why does't my date run over into the next blank cell?? When I have a
text is runs over the next blank cell, when I have a date in a cell not
big enough??

Any suggestions?

Because dates are numbers and they will return #####
if the cell size isn't enough

Yes it is, select the cell/column and do format>column>autofit

OK, thanks. I understood, it wasn't to option I was looking for.

Maybe a smaller font -- or a font that resizes itself.....

Format|Cells|Alignment tab|check the shrink to fit box.
