Date "None" designation in Outbox

G

Messages which are sent when offline or that I open before hitting
"Send/Receive" i.e. connecting to the mail server, end up with a date "none"
designation in the outbox. This designation is e-mail purgatory. The
messages canot escape the outbox other than by being deleted. Outlook does
not report an error. It just doesn't send the message. Can anyone help?
