date & time format and autofill

I have a list in text format as follows:

27/03/2006 00:00
28/03/2006 00:00
29/03/2006 00:00
30/03/2006 00:00

& I would like to use autofill to creat a list of each day of the year.
However, when I try to do this, it just adds on seconds rather than
continuing with the days. How can I get the list to carry on in the same
format, without changing the cell format?

You can't. If you insist on using text format, Excel will not recognize your
data as a date.

Is there a reason you need text format? Why not convert to a true Excel date,
then use dd/mm/yyy hh:mm format?
