Date/Time Merge fields

Dave W

I'm having trouble with merging time fields in Word from
an Access query. I'm merging date fields from the same
data source along with the \@ "ddd MMM dd" field code
switches and having no problems. The problems are with
the time fields along with the switch \@ "h:mmAM/PM". It
doesn't seem to apply to the data properly. I still get
the 12/30/1899 10:00AM format (in Access it displays
10:00AM).

It is probably something really simple. Please help!

Thanks in advance

Hi Dave,

As you are using an Access Query as the datasource, the easiest thing to do
is add and expression to the query to format the date in the time format
that you require.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the

directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Hi Dave,

You'll find information on how to affect numeric and data
formatting in the mailmerge FAQ on my website, including
details for the "hint" Doug gave you.

What version of Word do you have? Do you happen to know
whether you're using OLEDB or ODBC to bring in the data?
For what country are your Regional settings? And are they
set up to recognize AM/PM or the 24-hour clock?
