dates and ages

I have a list of names and birthdates in the format:

Diane 5-2-00
Joey 2-9-01
Nancy 12-16-99

I would like to add a third column that calculates the
ages of the persons listed based on todays date (in days).

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
