Dates before 1900

When I input a pre1900 date the worksheet treats it as text not as a date and hence I cannot use functions, what am I doing wrong .

Hi, you are not doing anything wrong, excel won't read dates befor
1900. It's very annoying. There is at least one add-in that can kind o
fix this. See this previous thread for one example - or search thi
forum for eg "1900" and 'addin" to find others.
